This qawwali is based on the incident of Karbala in which Imam Hussain, son of Hazrat Ali and grand-son of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) sacrificed his life alongwith a group of his loyal companions. Almost the entire family of Hazrat Ali was martyred in this incident and the cruelty inflicted on them is heart wrenching. Many poets have paid their homage to this event and its spirit by composting elegies. Shabbir is another name of Iman Hussain. Sakina, Ali Akbar, Abbas were all his family members.
